Scott Carncross AIA, LEED AP BD+C is a registered architect and Senior Associate at SHoP Architects in New York City. While at SHoP he has spent most of his tenure on the Brooklyn Tower, currently as project manager, which was recently named world’s best skyscraper for 2023 by Dezeen. Scott completed his Master of Architecture at the University of Toronto, where he also worked as a teaching assistant for graduate and undergraduate design courses. Scott also completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts at the University of Victoria, as well as a summer design studio at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has previously worked for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in New York City and James KM Cheng Architects and Arno Matis Architecture in Vancouver, BC.

In the final year of his graduate degree at UofT Scott’s thesis research focused on what high performance means in multi-unit residential architecture in a dense urban environment. Specifically, he examined the combination of energy and social aspects as they relate to the overall performance of a multi-unit residential building and how the overall sustainability of the project was able to improve by creating distinct relationships between constituent parts.
